Violence against women
The Office of Women’s Policy and the Minister for Women’s Policy provide representation to and progress actions for the Australian Government regarding the national plan to reduce violence against women and their children 2010-2022 in the Northern Territory.
The national plan to reduce violence against women is a 12-year strategy that seeks to achieve a significant and sustained reduction of violence against women and their children in Australia.

It has a focus on stopping violence through long-term cultural change, services are supported, perpetrators are held to account and building the evidence-base to inform improved policy and service responses to violence and sexual assault.
The Northern Territory domestic and family violence reduction strategy safety is everyone’s right was developed through this commitment to the national plan and is implemented through the Department of the Attorney-General and Justice in partnership with other Northern Territory Government departments.
